Have your say: Help end domestic abuse and violence against women and girls in Cornwall

People across Cornwall are being asked to complete a consultation on two new strategies aimed at tackling Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (DASV) and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG).

The three statutory boards in Cornwall with responsibility for community safety and safeguarding adults and children (Safer Cornwall, Our Safeguarding Children Partnership for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly (OSCP) and the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Adults Safeguarding Board (ASB)) are consulting with the public on how they plan to tackle DASV and VAWG over the next five years.

The members of these boards say there has been considerable progress in Cornwall to tackle domestic abuse, sexual abuse, and violence against women and girls since the 2019 Ending Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Strategy was launched but there is still a long way to go.

Anyone can provide feedback on these strategies by completing a survey on the Let's Talk Cornwall website.

All responses will be reviewed and used to inform the final versions of the strategies, which will influence priorities over the next five years.

Participants can skip questions they do not want to answer and do not need to include any names or personal details. No one will be identified in the results.

Carol Mould, portfolio holder for Neighbourhoods at Cornwall Council, said: "Tackling domestic abuse and sexual violence and violence against women and girls is everybody's business. Every member of our community deserves to feel safe and free from abuse, violence and fear.

"We are really grateful for those individuals who have already taken the time to complete this survey. I ask that others share their views and help us improve services in the future."

The consultation will end on January 31, 2023.
