Four people were rescued from a property fire in Mullion.

Local fire teams from Mullion and Helston were out in the early hours of this morning to rescue a group from a property fire.

Assisted by a crew from St Keverne, the call was made just after 5am on Meaver Road, Mullion.

There was a fire reported inside the property with an individual nearby assisting to get four people out of the property.

To extinguish the blaze, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a high-pressure hose reel jet.

In an update on the condition of the people rescued, Cornwall Fire and Rescue added:

"An ambulance was requested to attend, as four persons were suffering the effects of smoke inhalation."
