Escape rooms are coming to Helston.
Escape rooms are coming to Helston.

The former Helston HSBC building is set to be transformed into three new escape rooms with a games cafe.

A sign has been put up above the bank on Coinagehall Street - with Cornwall's Great Escape Rooms set to move into the site.

Owner Milly Edwards already has pirate and mafia styled rooms in Newlyn and is now looking to expand into Helston.

Milly says she is moving into Helston to bring more entertainment for families, holidaymakers, and residents.

"It is going to be a lot of fun," Milly said as work gets underway to refurbish the building ahead of an opening at the end of May/beginning of June.

The first room will be grim tales inspired "fractured fairytales" targeted at families. The second will be a horror-themed room. The third will be a bank heist room making use of the old bank vault.

Milly told Nub News:

"I really like Helston and this will be a great space for the business. I'd like to bring more entertainment for families to the town."

At the front of the building will be a board game cafe. People can drop in and play all sorts of games, she said:

"The whole idea is to get the community together. Kids can come in after school and play some games with their friends. There will be something for all ages, all members of the family can take part and solve puzzles."

"I want it to be a community hub where people can meet up and play games together," Milly added.
