Firefighters tackle suspected arson attack in Helston

An arson attack is thought to be behind the cause of a fire in Helston.

On Wednesday evening (22nd) at around 10pm local fire crews responded to an area between Park View Road and Porthleven Road to find a fire involving a trailer.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.

Upon closer inspection, arson was suspected to be the cause and the incident was handed over to the police.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson commented:

"We were notified by the fire service of a suspected arson in Park View Road, Helston, at around 10:40pm on Wednesday 22 December. This followed a blaze involving a trailer. Enquiries are ongoing."
