Devon and Cornwall PC summonsed for attempted rape, sexual assault charges

Devon and Cornwall Police Constable Matthew Tregale, 33, has been summonsed to court in connection with eight offences.

The charges are attempted rape, false imprisonment, sexual assault, three counts of sexual assault by penetration and two counts of coercive and controlling behaviour. 

PC Tregale is currently suspended from duty.

The alleged incidents occurred whilst the officer was off duty between 2006 and 2021, according to Devon and Cornwall Police.

He will appear at Plymouth Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 26 July.
