Yesterday afternoon (15th) two local fire teams were tasked to a chimney fire on Hendra Lane in Ashton, Breage.

At around 1pm, two appliances from Penzance and Helston attended a call to a property which was filling with smoke.

A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said:

"On crews arrival, they confirmed the fire was in the chimney behind the register plate.

"Firefighters used a triple extension ladder, roof ladder and roof safety equipment to tackle the fire from above."

The fire was extinguished and they were stood down.
