Councillor Tim Grattan-Kane elected as new Mayor of Helston

The new mayor of Helston has been elected following a meeting of members this week.

Timothy Grattan-Kane was picked to take over from John Martin on Thursday (20th), John steps down after 3 years.

Councillor Grattan-Kane takes the role as Mayor of Helston for the civic year 2021-2022.

In his regular report to the town John Martin added:

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Town Clerk, the team, and the members for managing the Town Council in such a difficult time, while allowing us as members to continue to operate as effectively and as safely as possible. I am also grateful for the response of our residents and businesses who have patiently dealt with life and work in order to minimise the risks

"Thank you all again for supporting me in my role as mayor over the past three years it has been very interesting and most enjoyable despite the hardships we have faced together."
