Coronation Park releases statement on Helston ducks following suspected attack


Coronation Park has released an update on the Muscovy duck which was reportedly punched by a group of teenagers yesterday evening.
In a statement from Coronation Park, they said:
"It was brought to our attention that there have been some social media posts concerning an incident with the Muscovy Ducks at the park last night.
"The Park Officer has checked all the Muscoveys this morning and we are happy to report they all seem fit, well and happy. "
Residents spoke out against the attack on social media, with one resident asking: "How can people be so cruel?"
West Cornwall Wildlife Rescue and Rehab volunteers put out an appeal for anyone with information on the attack.
"Police in Helston have been made aware of a number of reports of anti-social behaviour in the Coronation Park area including reports of teenagers attacking ducks in the park last night.
"The local Neighbourhood team have been made aware and will be carrying out enquiries in relation to these matters.
"Anyone who witnessed the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 939 24/08/20."
