New housing developments and a new Domino's Pizza outlet are among the latest planning applications which have been submitted to Cornwall Council.

There are hundreds of planning applications submitted to Cornwall Council each week which can range from those seeking permission to cut down trees to housing developments of hundreds of new homes.

Each application is considered by planning officers and is published on the council's planning portal to give the public the opportunity to look at proposals and comment on them if they wish to do so.

Decisions will be made about the applications either by planning officers under delegated powers or they might go before the council's planning committees.

Here are some of the latest applications which have been validated by the council this week. No dates have been set for when decisions will be made on the various proposals.

Plans to build 20 new homes

An outline planning application has been submitted to build up to 20 homes on land at Mawgan, near Helston. Rhosnoweth Developments is seeking to build the homes at a site in Higher Lane, Mawgan.

Under the plans, the developers have indicated that 14 of the new homes would be open market and the remainder would be affordable homes. The properties would be a mix of bungalows and houses and will have between one and four bedrooms each.

New development of 24 homes

Modena Lifestyles Ltd has submitted a planning application to build 24 homes on land at Holywell Road, Cubert. The proposed development would be a mix of flats, houses and bungalows.

A design and access statement says that the properties would be detached, terraced and semi-detached. The document explains that it would be a rural exception site and be affordable housing led.

The development is proposed to have 60 per cent affordable housing with 14 affordable homes and 10 open market properties. Under the plans the affordable homes would be a mix of affordable rent and shared ownership.

New Domino's Pizza outlet

A planning application has been submitted for a new Domino's Pizza outlet in Saltash. The pizza company is seeking to change the use of a unit in Burley Court, Saltash.

The premises currently has planning permission to be used by a car valeting firm and Domino's is seeking permission for it to be used for hot food takeaway.

A planning statement submitted with the application explains that the Domino's Pizza outlet would be open from 10am to 11pm daily and would create around 25 full and part-time jobs.
