The proposed Level 3 Devolution Deal for Cornwall has caused much debate and confusion as a Cornwall Council meeting leaves people scratching their heads.

A consultation questionnaire has now been made active and will run until midnight on the 17th of February, The council says that the results of the consultation will be considered before any decisions are made to approve the Deal.

One of the main arguments given by those who are for the deal say that it would give Cornwall Council more funding and more control over the decision-making that affects the county.

However, it has been made clear that the deal will only go through if the council changes the way it is governed, from the current system of a Council Leader, elected by the 87 Cornwall Councillors every year, to a Mayor directly elected by the people of Cornwall every four years.
