On Saturday the 11th of March the Coose Trannack Cross Country races return giving the local community a chance to come together and raise vital funds for Trannack School.

Organised by Friends of Trannack School (FTS), the day consists of 8 races for children from reception through to under 16s, as well as an adult fun run (4800m).

There are medals for the top three finishers of each year group for both the Girls' and boys' events and also trophies awarded to winning primary schools and clubs.

One of the organisers for the event and chair of the parent-teacher association Joanna Hart got in touch with Nub News after she and fellow organisers Andy Ross (Captain Coose) and Freddie Ash had been blown away by the amount of support they have received from local businesses and people.

Joanna said: "We've had so many businesses that have either offered us stuff for free or with huge discounts to help keep the cost down, even though a lot of people are struggling right now that has felt really uplifting."

It was clear Joanna was extremely grateful for all the support they have received and wanted to make sure it didn't go unnoticed, she said: "Helstonbury, Cornwall Council, and Phoenix Signs have been supporting us for the past few years. They have been joined by Euro Tools, Christophers Estate Agents in Helston, Vision Arts Tin, St Austell Print, Hart Personalised Workwear, and Salt n Vinegar.

"The event could not go ahead without them or local people volunteering to help sell teas and coffee or marshal the actual run. We also want to thank local residents for the use of their fields to park cars."
