The Lizard Christmas Lights committee has announced a change of plans to events this year.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the annual events hosted by the committee have been cancelled.

Now, residents of The Lizard are being invited to join in with a Christmas light competition - with a cash prize.

A spokesperson for The Lizard Christmas lights said:

"As I'm sure you are all aware we have cancelled all of our events this year due to COVID 19.

"Our small committee has got together and decided that we can't let COVID ruin Christmas and so have decided to try and do something.

"Last year's weather did a lot of damaged and not being able to raise funds throughout the year has put a bit of a dampener on our plans but we will try our best.

"We would like to invite you all to take part in The Lizard Christmas Light fight with your neighbours and friends, the winning house will win a £100 cash prize.

"This way we can all get involved to make our village look fun and festive."
