Child taken to hospital following collision in Helston

A seven-year-old child has been taken to hospital this afternoon following a crash involving two vehicles.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:

"Police were called at 1pm today to the B3297 at Helston following reports of a two-vehicle collision involving a car and an HGV.

"A seven-year-old child, a passenger in the car, is reported to have sustained injuries, not thought to be life-threatening or changing. They are being taken to hospital by land ambulance. The driver of the car and the driver of the HGV are believed to be uninjured.

"Highways have been called due to oil and debris on the road, vehicle recovery has also been called.

"The road remains blocked at this time."


The road has now been cleared.
