Antron Lane, Mabe at 21/10/2018 15:46Numerous calls were received for this incident, on arrival the crews found a barn well alight and requested further resources, further appliances from Truro and Tolvaddon attended, also in attendance were the water carrier from Helston and support resources from St. Just and St. Austell. The fire involves a barn measuring twenty by thirty metres containing 150 bales and farm machinery.

Update 1730 hours: A further appliance from Truro is now in attendance, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are using main jets at the scene, ground monitors are in use attempting to extinguish the fire.

Update 2030 hours: Fire crews are now leaving the incident scene.

Update 0630 hours (22/10/2018): At this time there are two appliances and a water carrier on scene. Firefighters are monitoring the scene.

Update 0900hrs (22/10/18): Relief crews are in attendance from Falmouth, Tolvaddon and Helston Community Fire Stations with two pumps and a water carrier. The contents of the barn are being turned over by a telehandler and the fire extinguished using jets. Arson is suspected as the cause of the fire and a joint fire and police investigation is continuing. Date Posted: 21/10/2018
