A baby dolphin has died near Gunwalloe on the Lizard peninsula.
It was revealed yesterday that the dolphin had died after a possible boat strike.
Cornwall Wildlife Trust have spoken on the death, stating that it follows a 'spate of disturbance incidents of dolphins by power boats, jet skis and stand up paddle boards over the summer months'.
Abby Crosby, Marine Conservation Officer and Marine Strandings Network lead, says, "This baby dolphin represents the very reason we are working so hard in Cornwall to raise people's awareness of the issue of marine wildlife disturbance by water users.
"It is a devastating result which could have been avoided with more responsible behaviour."
One resident has responded to the death saying: "We've seen many incidents over this summer with dangerously driven power boats in areas of recent whale and dolphin sightings, and very close to the shore water skiing putting both swimmers and the wildlife in danger.
"It should be regulated with appropriate controls."
