Cornish holiday letting agent Aspects Holidays have donated £1000 towards Porthleven Football Club's renovation plans.

The ever-growing club currently has three youth teams and two men's teams, but with an increasing number of players, the clubhouse no longer has sufficient space for everyone. Therefore, the club is raising money to extend and renovate the premises, with plans to create an improved and more functional space. As well as better facilities for the players, a new clubhouse would be a bonus for the community, with a venue hall (and bar) available for hire.

Aspects Holidays made clear that they like to support local communities, and are proud to have donated towards the renovation project. They wish Porthleven Football club the best of luck in reaching their target.

Rosina Perry, Property Manager for Aspects Holidays, popped down to the club to meet some of the people involved with the project. Here's what she has to say about the donation: "It feels amazing to contribute towards a community project like this, Porthleven Football Club is a huge part of the local community, which people of all ages enjoy. With so many volunteers already working so hard on the project, it was an absolute pleasure to come down and meet everyone and donate this on behalf of Aspects Holidays."

Porthleven AFC Chairman, Rob Hichens, passed on his thanks, "Our current clubhouse was built in 1964, originally only intended as a changing facility and tea hut, it became a clubhouse out of a necessity for the club to survive. However, we have outgrown the clubhouse and desperately need more room for our various teams."

"There are multiple sports organizations in the village that would also love to get involved and use the new space. And we would also like to start a youth club, as our young Porthlevener's have nowhere to go; the extra space would enable us to create pool teams, dart teams, and other clubs, such as craft clubs." Rob added.

Rob was hopeful that the whole community can get involved and benefit from the clubhouse, The donation from Aspect holidays was a massive boost to the start of our project and seeing a local company get behind our idea has helped us want to push on and make this happen for the whole village and future generations."

Rob's commitment to the project is admirable. If you'd like to donate to this fantastic cause, visit: www.gofundme.com/f/porthleven-football-club-renovation
