Porthleven Environment Group and the team from Penrose National Trust have taken action against dog fouling in the area.

Porthleven Environment Group recently received a series of complaints regarding dog fouling.

The latest challenge was to see if they could help clean up the Highburrow area of Penrose as it was in a "disgusting" state with over 400 incidents of dog fouling noted in just over two weeks.

A Porthleven Environment Group spokesperson, said:

"We were delighted that the National Trust ranger and CC dog enforcement officer came on board and we now have a plan to try and help reduce the amount of fouling.

"This is a long term plan and will include hi-viz patrols, education, posters and potential enforcement. We will be auditing the process to see if it is working.

"Please remember to pick up your dog poo and keep this area of outstanding natural beauty tidy."

On Friday, a team from the Penrose National Trust announced a start on the cleanup, spending a couple of hours at Highburrow clearing and collecting all the dog waste from the entrance down the route to the coastal path.
