The Mullion community has rallied to organise humanitarian aid for war-stricken Ukraine.
The invasion of Ukraine by Russia last month has forced two million people to flee and lead to over 500 civilian deaths.
In response, residents in Mullion and surrounding areas joined together to donate an incredible amount of goods to be sent to the desperate people of Ukraine.
Juliet Mitchell, Mike Motrici, Eronim Dumocos, and Chris Rendall have been organising two vans and a trailer to drop the donations in Bristol.
Coop stores in Mullion, Rosudgeon, St Ives Tregenna, and Falmouth Clipper Way have all been collecting items for delivery to Bristol.
The next collection is on Friday 18th March from 3:45pm at Mullion Secondary School. To help them in sorting donations, they have asked people to pack items but in separate, labelled boxes and not mixed (eg food and medicines).
"If you are able to help out at the school on Friday we would be extremely grateful for extra hands," Juliet posted in the group.
Clothing is not being accepted - these are the priority items:
- Food: pasta, rice, tinned food, instant food, sugar, flour, milk powder, baby food, dry fruit, black tea, coffee, cereals, cereal bars, chocolate bars, biscuits, jellies (no jars).
