NHS staff working at the covid vaccination centre in Stithians were greeted with a donation of food over the weekend from the Whealdream team.

After a busy weekend, Barry Clark and the team decided to get up early on Monday morning and donate some curries to feed the NHS staff at Stithians Showground mass vaccination centre.

Whilst the restaurant is closed for the early part of the week, Barry and the team of chefs felt they could offer a hot meal to the volunteers working tirelessly at the showground.

"The feedback was unreal," Barry told Nub News, and now they are looking for any local businesses that might offer a donation so they can continue with the service.

Speaking to Nub News, Barry and Naomi Clark owners of Whealdream Restaurant, said:

"We are prepared to use our facilities and work for free but as all businesses would understand without our normal income we could do with a little support. If anyone would like to get involved please contact us. You will be named alongside us in the supporting of this project."

Whealdream is still continuing with their takeaway and delivery roast dinners along with a variety of dishes on a Friday and Saturday evening and have now introduced a Fish and Chip Friday as well.

"The local support has overwhelmed us at Whealdream and hope it continues until we get to the end of this pandemic. From all of us at Whealdream we just want to thank everyone," they added.
