2000 vaccine doses administered in just over 2 days at Helston Medical Centre
A busy week for the team from Helston Medical Centre saw an outstanding effort to distribute 2000 Pfizer doses in just over 2 days.
The surgery praised the work of volunteers and patients with a full total of 2340 vaccines in 2.5 days.
Considering it was already a short week with Easter and the bank holiday, the teams came together from all the practices and there was help from other organisations to cover the busy, short week.
South Kerrier & Penwith Community Health Champion, Josh Pett was also on hand to offer support during the week, he commented:
"I had the privilege of helping support Helston Medical Centre and the patients attending for their 1st and 2nd Covid-19 vaccinations.
"I thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone outside in the sunshine and it was great to talk to patients about their "covid experience," from their first jab to their summer plans with family.
"For many, today was significant, receiving that second vaccination and taking another step towards helping us overcome the Covid challenge together."
Josh Pett also dropped a hint to some walking group initiatives coming soon in the local area, he added :
"Next week, I have some training but also, a very important meeting where we are looking to help increase physical activity with walking groups in the area."
