Following the new government restrictions, a Helston pub has decided to close its doors, it was announced today.

The Beehive, based on Coinagehall Street did hint that it could open again in the "not too distant future."

In a farewell message on social media landlord Neal Hicks said:

"It is with great sadness to let you all know that due to the latest government announcement and the restrictions mentioned, tonight, Wednesday 23rd, will be our last night of being open.

"It is with a heavy heart that we have come to this decision, but that is not saying we won't be open, hopefully, in the not too distant future.

"Thank you all for your tremendous support in the last several weeks and once again we say, 'we'll see you on the other side'.

"Stay safe and look after yourselves in these trying times. From Neal, Georgina and all our great staff."

The Beehive will be open from 8pm tonight for the last time.
