A series of new commercial units have been proposed at Helston Business Park that will create local employment opportunities.

Submitted by MJL Group, the plans would see 10 commercial units built at Helston Business Park, Clodgey Lane. Alongside the formation of a service road.

The 10 commercial units are proposed within 2 new buildings, with 5 units seen at each building.

A tarmacked area is proposed between the two buildings, which would provide 27 parking spaces allowing room for off-road maneuvering.

Pedestrian and vehicular access to the site is provided by the unadopted road running through the business park, which connects to Tresprison Road, which in turn connects to the A394.

The proposals provide for the formation of a new internal service road to connect to the existing unadopted road. The internal service road will provide access to the site along its southern boundary, leading to the tarmacked parking and maneuvering area between the buildings.

The applicant concludes:

"In terms of social and economic benefits, the proposals would result in the provision of 10 new commercial units, which will create local employment opportunities both during their construction and operation. Regarding environmental benefits, the proposals stand to create a net gain in biodiversity at the site through the delivery of enhancement measures.

"The proposal would not give rise to any technical impacts, particularly with regard to flooding, and would not introduce any concerns regarding highway safety. The development should therefore be approved."

The current status of the application is "awaiting decision".
