Person taken to hospital after fire rips through garage in Breage

An individual was taken to hospital for burns after a fire in Breage.

A fire that "totally destroyed" a garage in Breage resulted in one person being taken to hospital.

Yesterday (8th) around 3pm, residents reported seeing 4 fire trucks racing through Breage.

Eyewitnesses nearby also said the air ambulance landed near Rosemaber, and "explosions" could be heard from the scene.

Crews from Helston and Penzance responded to the incident.

A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service added:

"On arrival, the garage was found to be well alight. An additional appliance from Tolvaddon was requested.

"The garage was totally destroyed by fire. One casualty was taken to hospital via land ambulance with burns."
