The main route between Helston and Redruth is set to be closed for almost a month for road improvement works.

From the 15th March to the 6th April motorists will be forced to go via Camborne and Praze An Beeble instead of the usual route through Wendron and Four Lanes.

The work is being undertaken to install road safety measures including road marking removal, new road markings, high friction surfacing.

Under the Redruth to Helston Safety Scheme - motorists could see a lengthy diversion until completion.

The Order will come into operation on 15th March and the works are expected to be completed by the 6th April.

The prohibition will be in force between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 on a daily basis, weekdays only.

"Nothing in this order will apply to emergency services, traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer.," Kevin Bryant, Head of Highways and Infrastructure said.

Pedestrian access to residents and businesses is to be maintained.
