Local taxi firms have come together to support the community with a foodbank donation.

Cabs4U, Dan Dan The Taximan, Kernow cabs and Meneage Taxis and have put £400 towards food to go to the local foodbank for Helston residents.

The companies have supported the community over the years raising money through fun days, putting on free taxis for veterans for Remembrance Day last year, free taxis for the first lockdown to make sure people had their shopping etc, supported local clubs and more.

Jim Spratt of Cabs4U Helston told Nub News:

"A total of over £400 was used to buy food and give it to the food bank for Helston residents.

"We were contacted after the first drop of £100 worth of food was delivered and asked for the other £300 to be in cash so the Helston and Lizard Foodbank can buy fresh fruit and vegetables for the Christmas hampers.

"We all hope this in some small way, will help Helston and the local residents in this troubling time ahead.

"We would like to thank everyone who helped and donated. As well as a big thank you to you all for your continued support now and in the future."
