Voting is now open to boost Children's Sailing Trust's chance of winning a share of £1million children's charity giveaway.

Over 2,500 applicants have been shortlisted to 96 finalists of charities from the areas of sport, health, and education, with a focus by Persimmon Homes Building Futures fund of supporting under-18s across the UK.

Children's Sailing Trust, the charity that provides accessible and affordable watersports opportunities for young people on the Helford River and at Trevassack Lake, near Helston, is asking those living in Cornwall to place a daily vote for their charity to win a prize.

Fundraising and Communications Manager Justine Read said:

"This is an incredible opportunity for our charity to get the funds needed to run our accessible and affordable sailing and watersports for local children, something that costs us over £160,000 to run each

year.

"Whether it's whilst the kettle boils, or you're brushing your teeth, we're asking supporters to please make 5 seconds of their day CST Time and vote to create sailing opportunities for all.

"We've had wonderful messages so far from those who have put post-its by letterbox, notes on the light switch, or even put a tag on their dog lead as a reminder to themselves to vote each day!"

Justine added:

"Voting could not be simpler. Just visit Persimmon Homes website and select Children's Sailing Trust every 24 hours, it would mean the world to us if we could have your support."

Persimmon Homes Cornwall is backing the organisation to be a prize winner, with cash awards of £100,000, £50,000, or £20,000 being made to those with the most online votes.
