Helston Town Council has revealed plans to support the community as the country prepares to enter a second lockdown.

Way back in March we reported on the Community Emergency Plan as the Town Council sought volunteers to take on tasks such as picking up shopping, posting mail, collecting urgent supplies.

Now, the scheme has been relaunched to support residents in isolation.

Town Clerk Chris Dawson told Nub News:

"The Town Council has re-activated the Community Emergency Response Team so that residents in isolation can call us for assistance with shopping and delivering medical supplies for example.

"We have contacted all the previous volunteers to establish who will be available during this second lockdown. The telephone number for residents to call is the same as last time 01326 565761. Initially, the line will be manned 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday starting tomorrow."
