Roadworks have closed a main route through Helston town for the second time this year.

The work is taking place at Penhellaz Hill and Cross Street, and won't be finished until next year.

It is being undertaken on the Lanjowan retaining wall, for parapet repair works.

The work began on Monday 11th October, and will continue until January 28th 2022.

The road closure is in place 24 hours a day, weekends included.

Kevin Bryant, Head of Highways and Infrastructure, added:

"Nothing in this order will apply to emergency services, traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer.

"Pedestrian and vehicular access to residents and businesses will be maintained."

A diversion route has been signed off, taking residents through Church Street, Monument Road, and Penzance Road.
