Helston Photography Fundraiser Raises Double Initial Target

A Helston photographer's fundraiser project has raised double its initial target for the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust.

The project has now raised over £2000 with donations still coming in from the community.

Ashley Hampson has been taking photos of families outside their house in his Front Porch Project.

The project has aimed to document this unprecedented time in history through the art of photography, while also doing something positive for the community.

After seeing that some people wanted to pay him for his work, he decided that he didn't want to make a profit from the project.

Ashley decided that instead, he would prefer the money to go to the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust.

Ashely told Nub News: "It's amazing to have received so many donations so quickly. People are very generous and so grateful to take part in the project."

Ashley, originally from Middlesbrough, graduated with a degree in photography from Falmouth University in 2006.

He has since moved back to Cornwall and worked as a professional portrait and wedding photographer since 2010.

He is now teaching photography at Cornwall College while gaining his PGCE.
