A man from Helston is in a critical condition in hospital after a crash near Camborne.

Police were called around 6:55pm on Saturday (16th) after a collision between a beige Toyota Yaris and a white Nissan Elgrand on the A30 at Roseworthy.

The driver of the Toyota, a man in his 40s from the Helston area, sustained life-threatening injuries.

Police revealed this afternoon that he remains in Derriford Hospital in a "critical condition".

The other driver, a man in his 60s from the Penwith area, was left with minor injuries.

Local officers, as well as officers from the Roads Policing Team and Serious Collision Investigation Team, attended.

The A30 was closed while a specialist examination of the scene took place and the vehicles were recovered.

Appealing for witnesses, a spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police added:

"Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and appealing for any witnesses to contact them. They are particularly keen to hear from anyone with relevant dashcam footage.

"Please email [email protected] or telephone 101, quoting log number 0783 of 16/10/21."
