Local firefighters were called out in the early hours to an incident at a Helston fish and chip shop.

Fire crews from Helston and Falmouth were called to Fraser's Fish & Chips on Godolphin Road just after 5:20am, 25th February.

On arrival, firefighters inspected the scene and confirmed that there was a small fire involving a bin.

"A hose reel jet was used to extinguish the fire and the incident has been confirmed as accidental," a Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added.

Fraser's Fish & Chips confirmed the "mini fire" on social media - stating they would be open as normal this afternoon.

They said:

"Apologies to our neighbours in Helston this morning. We had a mini fire in the shop. Thankfully no one was hurt and nothing was damaged. Open as usual from 12pm today."
