Fire service called out to reports of 'serious' bush fire near Predannack Airfield

[21:49] The Lizard Road (A3083) has now reopened.


UPDATE [20:02] - One resident has reported a "huge" fire opposite The Old Cider Barn, adding:

"Do not use the Lizard Road, it's coming across the road. A fire crew in attendance."


A 999 call has been made this evening to reports of a serious fire near Predannack Airfield.

Nearby resident Katrina Harvey Winstanley filmed the blaze and called emergency services at around 6:30pm.

She said:

"Have just called 999 to attend a serious bush fire on East side of A3083 near Predannack Airfield. This footage was filmed from a distance of approximately 2 miles."

The fire service confirmed an incident in this area but said there were no further details at this time.
