Cornish Food Hub takes up new premises near Helston

By Joseph Macey 25th Nov 2021

A private chef launched his own restaurant near Helston this month offering dishes made with the finest Cornish produce.

Nathan Deacon of The Cornish Food Hub moved into the premises which used to be occupied by Taste Cafe at The Homestead, Woodland Garden, Wendron.

Nathan has a long history in food having worked at the Cadgwith Cove Inn, and at Kota in Porthleven under Jude Kereama.

Opening on 4th November, Nathan said the first weeks have been about getting used to everything but the response has been really positive from customers.

They recently launched a Christmas menu which has already had a lot of bookings.

Small and large parties are being catered for throughout December to enjoy a festive feast of a menu.

The menu features starters of crispy marinated squash, and roasted scallops. Mains of treacle cured sirloin, john dory. And desserts include Christmas pudding, and vegan white chocolate cheesecake, with plenty more on the menu.

Nathan told Nub News:

"The food is ultra-local and very fresh, it is all handmade and prepared for order. We do some really tasty waffles and pancakes, and a lighter and healthier take on an English breakfast. We are really happy with how it's gone so far, and looking forward to the future."

The restaurant is open Wednesday-Saturday 9am-4pm, and Sunday's 10am-4pm.
