A community fundraiser is due to be held for a local family who lost their Ruan Minor home to a devastating fire.

On the evening of Saturday 18th December, Lisa Williams and her children managed to escape after a blaze broke out.

Sadly they lost their home and all their possessions in the fire - with the community rallying to offer support.

Following the incident, a fundraiser was set up that has raised over £10,000 in a matter of days.

The Ruan Minor Village Hall has been opened up recently for donations of clothes, toiletries, bedding, and other items.

Now they are in a position to welcome people in to buy items with donations going directly to Lisa and the family.

The village hall will be open on Thursday 30th December from 10am-12pm. Anything left over will be bagged up and given to charity. All covid restrictions will be in place.

One of the organisers Sam Jane said on social media:

"Once again a huge thank you to you all for your support over the past week, it's been amazing."
