Coastguard assists in medical evacuation at Coverack

The local coastguard team was tasked yesterday to assist the ambulance service in a medical evacuation.

The evacuation took place at the north corner of Coverack.

Porthoustock Coastguard Rescue Team revealed details saying:

"On arrival, the casualty was located and an assessment was carried out prior to the arrival of the ambulance.

"The team secured the injury and stretchered the casualty to the road where we met the ambulance crew.

"The carry was over rough rocky terrain and caterpillar techniques were used over the sties. Once handover was complete the casualty was left in the care of SWAST to be taken on for further care."
