Helston fire service was tasked to multiple incidents in one evening after call-outs to Mullion and Gweek.

The team was busy on Friday evening (8th), as the first call-out came from Gweek to a garage fire just before 4pm.

The blaze involved a garage measuring approx 50ft by 20ft and contained one vehicle.

On arrival, there was smoke issuing and the crews used 2 breathing apparatus, a hose reel, and a safety jet were used to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire was believed to be accidental.

The team were then called out again around 10pm to a residential fire in Mullion, on-scene an electrical fuse box was found on fire.

Crews from Mullion and Helston attended along with a whole-time officer.

The fire was confirmed to be out and deemed an accidental fire that spread.
