The bells will ring from St Michael's Church, Helston once again this Sunday after it was approved for the bellringers to return.

It has been approved for the four bellringers at the church to ring in line with coronavirus guidelines given by the Central Chamber of Bellringers.

Robert Woods, Tower Captain told Nub News:

"Although not ideal only ringing four bells for 15 minutes it's better than no bells at all.

"I believe the Helston townsfolk will be grateful to hear the sound of our bells ringing across the town once again after almost 9 months silence, it sends a message to the people in Helston that some light is at the end of the dark tunnel.

"The activity at our belfry and church is trying hard to get back some normality in life in general."

The ringers will ring four bells for 15 minutes at 9:30am on Sunday.

Robert added:

"Hopefully this little enjoyment of ringing bells will continue on Sunday's when ringers get the ok to undertake the handling of the bells and that you all enjoy once more the sound of our lovely bells here in Helston."
